iPhone Engraving

engravediphone1.jpg Device Nine Six, located in Los Angeles, are doing laser etchings on iPhones. Not only will they burn your iPhone, but I bet they will also burn your warranty. Device Nine Six will do more than that simple text engraving Apple offers for their iPod products. Device Nine Six’s rule is, “If you can print it on a piece of paper, We can engrave it.” If your in the area, and want some personalization for your iPhone, prepare $30, and give them a call. Check out the video, and website.

I was told that any engraving voids the warranty at the Apple store in Manhattan. The guy was really snarky about it, too.

That’s too cool for school. I can’t imagine why Apple would consider that a warranty voiding issue? If the laser doesn’t penetrate inside the unit it’s no different than drawing on the back with a sharpie. Would they consider that warranty voiding as well? Corporations are baffling sometimes…
